    Hi Ben,
I learn a lot from your useful videos on you tube. One thing I am struggling with is how to wrap a shape to the surfaces of my model. I find that the wrap feature can only work for one face only. If I have a shape I draw by separate lines or splines then extrude, the wrap feature won’t wok on the surfaces. It only works on the facing plane only not the side planes.
I also noticed that the wrap feature doesn’t work on a lofted surface.
What I want to be able to do is how to wrap a shape to all sides of the model or at least the selected sides I want. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks Ben!

You have to use a profile path cut to do this unfortunately

    Hello Ben/CBL
I have one issue here, I have one machine part, which is having 2 configurations, I have used that part in an assembly, I have created some in context cut features in assembly using first part configuration , but while I tried to create in context cuts by using second part configuration SolidWorks is showing some error messages , that u can’t create in context features in more than one configuration , like that…..
Is it the real case ?

    regards
    Guruprasanna

Yup sorry but too many references from too many assemblies can crash a system

Does anyone have an idea why I should be getting this error message when importing an Autocad file
into solidworks, for conversion to Sheet Metal mode?

Have you tried to cut and paste the drawing from DraftSight to SolidWorks? I find that works better some times

    Hello Ben
Suppose I need SheetMetal Thickness equally on both sides of any reference plane (For Ex. Like MidPlane option in Part modelling) in SolidWorks, it is not possible ? , when I was doing Weldment & sheetmetal model , I needed the sheetmetal thickness equally on both sides of the ref.plane , but what I did was , after drawing a rectangle extruded it using midplane , then converted it to Sheetmetal i.e . using Convert to SheetMetal , it is the only way ?

    regards

Another way is to create the part with the Sheet Metal functions, and then add Mid-Planes to whichever flanges you want.

… and then add Mid Planes between whichever flange faces you want.

    Hi,
Please I need help support regarding balloons distribution in a large assembly. This large assembly it has same subassemblies parts fasteners etc, etc. So on the first and second sheet I would like to set only the balloons for all subassemblies, than on the next sheet the rest of all components, there is a chance to resolve this problem in SW 2012 premium version, or there is same method which give me permission to control very accurate what balloons I would like to appear on specific sheet or there is same method which give me permission to select from feature tree the subassembly and the balloon to appear on the right sheet the same for parts, I need something to control which geometry from assembly represent same subassemblies for select the correspondent balloon. Have a wonderful weekend and day too.

for Example in ProE WF 2-4 : there are some possibilities to control the arrangement for balloons such as, set the subassembly in feature tree or direct in drawing on BILL OF MATERIAL set the subassembly in row and you have in view in drwg the highlights of that subassembly or part, so this give you the permission to control where and how to appear the balloon where is more practical, other nice thing it is when you select a subassembly or a part in drawing view appear a small ticket information’s by the mouse or in the text info the name of that subassembly or part and you can control the arrangement of that balloon by view sheet etc etc. Please help me it is important. Thanks I appreciate

    Salbu,

    Hi

Can I link a part/assembly file location so I can display it in the title block ?

    i.e. C:\1.Design Office Drawings(P)\12.IPL\Cyclone

    Cheers

    Martin

Yes. When linking the annotation select the “SW-Folder Name” and “SW-File Name” properties.

Thanks CBL but how do I select BOTH options?

Highly requested Surface Fill tutorial in SolidWorks

    Mr Eadie,
I searched the You Tube files that you recommended to Erin, (http://www.youtube.com/user/behnt?feature=mhee ) one by one to no avail, as I am having pretty much the same grief with the “Surface Fill” tool, as your user who posted a thread here on Sept. 10, 2012, and if you still have the video tutorial that you made for him I would really appreciate it as well.

    Hello Ben
It is not possible to apply Form tools on Curved Faces of Sheetmetal parts in SolidWorks ?
I was trying to apply Form Tools on a Rolled Sheetmetal parts by doing Unfolding , when it was unfolded the Form Tool was applied properly but when I Folded it back , the Form Tool simply turned to Cuts in places of Form Tools & there was Warning symbol infront of Fold feature . Can u give me solution ?

    Regards
