Is there any way how to insert BOM to drawing template (drwdot)? For example. I insert assembly to a drawing and BOM will be automaticly generated.

I haven’t been able to find a way, I hope someone else has found a way so I can update my templates as well.

This is not possible. You have to have a drawing view first for it to link to.

Funny how I have not thought of this mainly because the functionality just was simply not there. It cannot be that hard as revision tables can be made a part of a template. So why can we not do this SolidWorks?

I’m not trying to be critical (just curious), but what would be the purpose for an empty BOM on an empty drawing? It would still have to be manually linked to a view, unless it automatically adopted the first view placed … which may not always be what’s wanted.
I haven’t tried this, but maybe Pre-defined Views could be created, and a BOM tied to one of those?
The Revision Table can be pre-applied because it is not reading data from a view; it is a non-associated table used only for showing information on the drawing.

Yes, but I think, that in most cases you are doing drawing from one assembly. And why wouldn´t be the possibility do that? When my design is complet in assembly then I go to drawing mode. I am capable in one day create for instance 10 – 15 drawings with BOM and balloons.

I have some pre-defined views in my templates and have been unable to tie a BOM to it.
Enhancement request:
Allow a BOM to be linked to a pre-defined view in a template to automatically populate the BOM.

Well, everyone answered the question that I have been mulling about and searching for answers for quite a while. Puts my mind at ease now.

if you did have a BOM on your template, you would have to have a separate template for part drawings and assembly drawings. Wouldnt that be a bit annoying?
