Hi everyone.
I have a modelled a ”worm” (its for a fan) and i need to unfold it to a piece of sheet metal, so i can get the correct dimensions for cutting out the plate before bending etc.
dows anyone knows how to do that?
thanks in advance¨

You need to zip the file before attaching here.

I would suggest you to model it flat and then using flx command (Insert > Feature > Flex) bend/twist to required shape. SW currently can’t handle this types of bend OR use a 3rd party tool from FTI (http://www.forming.com/blankworks.htm)

Actually, i found out how to make the profile with two 3D.sketches and a lofted bend

But problem with that is you can’t use guide curves
I tried making your part with that but that was not matching the exact geometry, hence didn’t suggested you that method.
