    Hi Everyone.

I may not be using the correct terminolgy here but I hope you understand what I’m getting at.

Can I automatically label a detail, a section or a view from one drawing sheet that indicates the drawing sheet and view that the detail originates ?

    Cheers

    Martin

Yes. When linking the annotation select the “SW-Folder Name” and “SW-File Name” properties.

Thanks CBL but how do I select BOTH options?

    Hi Everyone.

Can I insert an assembly into an assembly and still retain movement via limit mates in the inserted part ?

    • Ben 10:32 am on May 11, 2012 Permalink

Once the sub assembly is inserted into the top level assembly. Right click on it in the feature tree and select component properties. In the dialog that comes up choose ‘solve as flexible’ and click ok. Voila!

      Perfect !

      Thank Ben

    Hi everyone,

Why is my 1st drawing sheet different from all the ones following? I have modified the title block links but the changes I need only appear in sheet 1, all subsequent sheets appear as before the changes(SW2010)

    Thanks

    • Ben 6:02 pm on April 4, 2012 Permalink

What you are seeing here is ‘sheet format’ and ‘sheet template’ You have the sheet format made but you did not save the sheet out also as a sheet format. Look it up in Help

      Sorted !

      Thanks Ben

    Hi
I’m having difficulty flattening a square to round loft in SW2010 and showing the bend lines, the model looks good I’ve filleted the bend edges with a 11mm radius, shelled the part to 10mm thickness, ripped the front face with a 2mm gap, up to now everthing is fine, then I try to insert bends, I pick the back inside face and with the radius set at zero I press the check mark and get “No bends found” as an error message!!! Please help someone, it’s driving me nuts!

    Thanks

    Hi

Can I create an automatic drawing register in Excel (or similar), of all my Solidworks drawing?

    Thanks.

I am sure it is possible but I do not know of any pre-made system.

    Hello.

How do I remove the border lines from a solid fill hatch in a drawing, I’ve tried changing the line colours and paper colours and they dissapear on screen but the lines still show up on the printed page ?

    Thanks

    • CBL 12:16 pm on January 20, 2011 Permalink

Do you have the printer options set to Colour?

Have you tried just hiding the lines?

    • ws2 4:07 pm on January 20, 2011 Permalink

The printer options are set, but I can’t find an option to hide the lines ?

    • CBL 6:49 pm on January 20, 2011 Permalink

The lines are hidden from within SW. Select the lines in a view, right-mouse click and select the icon with the two vertical lines (top of the pop-up menu)

    • ws2 12:49 pm on January 23, 2011 Permalink

Thank you for your efforts .
This icon dosn’t appear when I click on the Area hatch boundary.

    • CBL 3:57 pm on January 23, 2011 Permalink

Turn the hatch off, or use a cross-hatch to be able to see the lines more easily.
Select a line only … this is separate from the Hatch function … and a set of icons should appear
If you Ctrl select lines, you will have to right-click on a selected line to have the menu appear.

    • CBL 3:57 pm on January 23, 2011 Permalink

      What version of SW?

    • ws2 8:50 pm on January 23, 2011 Permalink

      I’m using SW2010

This is the drawing I’m struggling with, when I print, the hatch border shows, and now(after changing almost every setting I can think of the bridge structure shows through the hatch even though the hatch is set to solid

      Thanks again for your time

    Hello Every Body.
Can I draw a Landscape scene, or an uneven hillside in solidworks ? I’ve tried all the surface features, nothing seems to work.
    Thanks in advance.

I made a video of how I do it a few years back here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjOo9d1KJUM remember that the max size of a solidworks model is 1Kilometer qubed

    • CBL 7:01 pm on September 28, 2010 Permalink

      qubed? :o )

While the 1KM cube limit is still true for parts, assys can be much larger.

So I’m good at graphic thingys but word assembly not so much :)
