Tangency issues
The ear on top of this clamp is tangent on center. Is there a way to merge / extrude it so that it’s tangent along whole radius? I can redraw it if needed but I’d like to know how to do this if possible.
(edit: I forgot to save file before uploading so it’s probably missing ear. Sorry)
Thanks

I’m sure it’s my error, but I’m using IE8.

Not your fault but IE8 may be the issue. Since its release web developers have had a hell of a time getting things to work properly…. Including myself

BRTLATJGT … Is the ‘ear’ supposed to be a merged feature of the clamp, or a non-merged body in the clamp, or a movable component in an clamp assy?
Ben 3:33 pm on July 10, 2009 Permalink
TGIF for sure I will try again in a bit…. Sorry guys….
Grrrrrrrrr

Merged part.

BRTLATJGT,
If you want to list your emai, I’ll send you my example file.
All I did was sweep a profile of the rib, using a path and two guide curves. A guide curve at the top and bottom of the cylinder, duplicating the diameter of the cylinder, and a straight path at the leftover corner of the triangle creating the rib profile.
